Description: “Posture of Harmony” is an ongoing project that includes participants from multiple communities. With each edition, the video evolves by starting with a new “community build. In Winter Park, students from a local middle school participate by drawing and talking about perfectionism through the two primary shapes in the artwork: the cube and the hands. They make paper cubes and write inside them about the things they hold that are either perfect or imperfect. Then Brummund videos their hands as the hold and release a stack of paper cubes. When editing the video, multiple hands are woven together. The individual movements to balance and carry are choreographed into one picture of holding. The video does not show the cubes that the hands are holding. Instead the hands are projected onto a stack of cubes. Through this process, the hands are shaped by the cubes. The final video is projected onto the outside of the building. The process and our presence becomes like a swath of light in the environment.
